Faro airport is the Hub of tourist activity for the Algarve and indeed Southern Portugal. It is only 7 km away from Faro itself.
Many budget airlines fly to and from Faro and the airport itself is now a modern facility having been expanded and updated.

There are sadly no train connections from the airport, but from Faro you can take the train along the Algarvian coast line.

Faro airport is easily accessible by car and bus. There are numerous on site car rental companies and the bus goes from the airport to the centre of Faro. From here you can use the Serviҫo Transrápido, a fast bus service that goes to most of the tourist destinations.
The bus leaves on average every half hour from the airport in the high season: 07.10~20.40
{weekends and holidays 08.00~19.30}

NB ~ There are no hotels at the airport. The nearest hotel is the Ibis Faro {tel. 00 351 289 806 771}
2 km from the airport.

Disabled Facilities

Faro airport has adapted elevators and toilets. Disabled parking is available opposite the terminal building however there are no wheelchair ramps!

There is a personalised service aimed at any passenger with a disability or reduced mobility, travelling within the boundaries of the EU.

This service should be pre~booked with the air carrier or agent up to 48 hrs before departure.
